A stranger may walk behind you,
But as our friend,
Mindy walked beside us.

A stranger may be unfamiliar with our ways,
But as our friend,
Mindy knew our hearts.

A stranger may not know how you feel,
But as our friend,
Mindy shared our joy and our pain.

A stranger may keep things from you,
But as our friend,
Mindy freely gave her love.

Mindy will always be loved and not forgotten.
Nurses Tears
By Maria Rynning

As nurses, our tears are often quietly shed, and if not a nurse
yourself, our tears would go unnoticed.  Our tears are for
emotions left unexpressed, held close to our hearts, for moments
that have touched our soul, they are for the lives we have
touched, and for the hope that each day we will make a
difference.

Today we shed our tears openly for all to see, for we have lost
one of our own, a nurse, who will no longer physically touch the
lives of others, no longer hold a hand, or wipe away the tears of
joy or sorrow from her patients.

Today we shed our tears openly for all to see, for we have lost
one of our own, a nurse, someone we called friend.

We were not prepared for this, but as nurses, in our hearts we
know that death often gives no warning; it is a part of life.  In
fact, death gives meaning to our existence because it reminds us
all how precious and fragile life is.

Mindy, your life was precious, your spirit generous, you gave of
yourself without asking for anything in return.  Our lives are
forever transformed for knowing you.
As nurses, when we quietly shed tears, one will always be
for you.

To hear your voice,
To see your smile,
Just to sit and talk a while,
To be together in the same old
way,
Would be the wish we would
make today.
